Streaming – technology which allows users to hear or see a file without having to totally download a copy of the file to their computer Download – to copy a file from an Internet site to one’s own computer Streaming Radio – for the purposes of this study, streaming radio shall refer only to streaming webcasts of terrestrial radio stations Streaming Audio – any audio which may be heard using Internet streaming technology Traditional Radio Stations – radio stations, AM or FM, which broadcast over the air using a transmitter and antenna assembly Web-Only Streaming Service – streaming audio providers who do not broadcast over the air using a transmitter and antenna assembly Local Radio Station – traditional radio station which is located in or available in one’s listening area Non-Local Radio Station – traditional radio station not located in or available in one’s listening area Listening Area – one’s home and the area surrounding it; area within which one typically listens to radio |
