Study Guide - Final Exam

Home Up

The optional final exam is comprehensive and will emphasize information gathered throughout the course of the semester.  The exam will consist of multiple choice questions (Total points possible 100 pts.).  The following strategies may help you in studying for this exam.   If the score earned on this exam is higher than any of the prior four lecture exams, this grade will substitute for the lowest lecture exam test score.

  • The final exam will be held on Friday, June 30, 2006 starting at 11:00 am in LSE 204.

NO MAKE-UP EXAMS WITHOUT A DOCUMENTED AND VALID EXCUSE!

The following strategies should help you in studying for this exam:

Refer to the Syllabus for  ZOOL 2003 to remind yourself as to what topics were covered during the course of the semester.

Review the sections at beginning of the chapter entitled UNDERSTANDING WORDS  and CHAPTER OBJECTIVES in the textbook (i.e., Hole's Human Anatomy & Physiology, 10th edition; 2004, by Shier, Butler, and Lewis).

Review the sections at the end of the chapter entitled CHAPTER SUMMARY in the textbook (i.e., Hole's Human Anatomy & Physiology, 10th edition; 2004, by Shier, Butler, and Lewis).

Review terms given in bold print in the text and know the definition and meaning.   If the definition is not given directly in the text of a particular chapter, go to the Glossary found on pages 981 to 1042 for definitions to terms found in the textbook (i.e., Hole's Human Anatomy & Physiology, 10th edition; 2004, by Shier, Butler, and Lewis).  .

Review the back inside cover of the textbook (i.e., Hole's Human Anatomy & Physiology, 10th edition; 2004, by Shier, Butler, and Lewis) for the section entitled AIDS TO UNDERSTANDING WORDS

Review your lecture notes and handouts from class AND the chapter summaries/PowerPoint Presentations (available by visiting http://www.clt.astate.edu/mhuss/) that are posted online through the internet.

If you have any questions, I will be available at my office (LSE 317) at the following times and days:

  • Monday, June 26 from 10:00 am to noon
  • By appointment during different times during the week - contact me to arrange a time to meet.

This would be a good opportunity for you to drop by my office to ask me questions and to look at the answer keys and copies of the first three lecture exams.  I can also respond to some questions by email at mhuss@astate.edu.

Understand the information and processes represented in the figures and tables found in the textbook (i.e., Hole's Human Anatomy & Physiology, 10th edition; 2004, by Shier, Butler, and Lewis) for Chapters 1-11 and know the meanings of terms and concepts illustrated.

Dr. Diane Gilmore has a Study Guide available at http://www.clt.astate.edu/mgilmore/final_study_guide_f01.htm that you might find helpful to direct your studies.

REMINDER:  I cannot give grades out to students over the phone or via email.  If you want to receive a report of your performance in this course.  You must contact me in person, or give me a self-addressed stamped envelope so I may forward this information directly to you.  Otherwise, visit the Web for Students internet site to find out your final grade in the course.  Also if you wish to discuss your grade with me in person, stop by and make an appointment or see me in the Summer Session or Fall semester of 2006.  I can go over the detailed evaluation of your grade with you at that time.
