| Scott Reeve received a BA in chemistry and
physics from Augsburg College in May of 1987 and a PhD in chemical physics
from the University of Minnesota in July of 1992. The focus
of his thesis work was the high resolution far-infrared spectroscopic examination
of weakly bound molecular complexes.
After graduating from the University of Minnesota, Scott was an Office
of Naval Research Postdoctoral Fellow at Michelson Laboratories in China
Lake, CA where he studied diamond thin film chemical vapor deposition chemistry
in a DC plasma jet. A primary objective of his postdoctoral study was
to understand the gas phase chemistry leading to the deposition of diamond
thin films. Much of the effort was directed toward developing a number of optical spectroscopic
techniques as diagnostics to follow diamond thin film growth in the plasma
jet.
In August 1994, Scott accepted a tenure-track position in the Department of Chemistry and
Physics at Arkansas State University where he is currently a tenured Associate Professor of Chemistry.
