GRADING

Grades will be assigned according to the following guidelines:  Final Seminar - 50%; Midterm seminar - 25%; weekly class assignments - 25%.

As a general guide, the final presentation should be 40-45 minutes long and the midterm presentation should be 12-15 minutes.  There will be point deductions for going either too short or too long.  Grades will be assigned both for meeting the presentation length criteria and for the overall quality and/or scientific merit of your presentation.

Policy on make-up work:
Policy on absences/make-up exams/presentations: There will be no make-ups unless the absence is the result of an official ASU activity.  Missed presentations will be handled on an individual basis.  However, if you cannot make a scheduled presentation time, you must make alternative arrangements with the instructor at least one week prior.  In other words, you will not be allowed to make-up a presentation after the scheduled date.

Students who require academic adjustments in the classroom due to a disability must first register with ASU Disability Services.  Following registration and within the first two weeks of class, please contact me to discuss appropriate academic accommodation.  Appropriate arrangements can be made to ensure equal access to this course.
