This book is about the bravery of Harriet Tubman an African American who escaped slavery in the 1800’s.  During her time in slavery she loved to pick apples but, was deprived of eating them.  She said, “I will soon be free from slavery and eat as many apples as I want.”  She later escaped from slavery and made it her life to free fellow African American slaves. This book focuses on her bravery and great efforts to save the lives of others.  The beautiful illustrations consist of oil paintings that are filled with warm colors which will capture the reader’s interest.
