Buffalo Flo and her farm friends are getting all dressed up for Farmer Snow’s annual barnyard dance. Joanne Ryder uses rhyming text to create this story, which is based on the chorus of the 1844 song “Buffalo Gals.” The beautiful mixed media illustrations, created by Guy Francis, provide a humorous humanlike aspect to the characters which enhances the story.
