Orphea is a seventeen year old who is forced to live with her half-brother after the death of her parents.  As a teenager Orphea realizes she is in love with her best friend, who happens to be a girl.  After her friend dies in a car wreck, Orphea sets herself off from the rest of society and she is sent to live with her aunts.  It is during this time that she learns about her heritage as well as accepts herself as a lesbian.  It is during this time that Orphea discovers love, friendship, and importance of family.
