The Magically Mysterious Adventures of Noelle the Bulldog features a bulldog, Noelle, who is quite different from the other animals.  Noelle is too short to keep up with other dogs and too heavy to swim with fish.  Noelle meets a firefly who encourages her to try to find the special gift that she possesses. Finally, Noelle gains confidence in herself by helping others.  She may be too short to run with the other dogs but she is just the right size to squeeze underneath the car to retrieve their ball.  She is so excited that she goes to tell the fish.  To her surprise the fish need her help, too!  Noelle is so happy that she has found her special gift.  The illustrations are true to life.  The reader will better understand the book once they read the additional information the publisher supplies.  This poetry book, which is really a song, will work well for lap reading.  (Trade Book)
