Anne Frank is the biography of a young girl who lived during the Holocaust.  This powerful book begins with the birth of Anne and takes the reader through the unforgettable events of Anne’s short life.  Poole reveals to the reader what Anne was like as a girl while offering glimpses of the life which Jews faced under Adolf Hitler's control.  Emotions intensify as the story progresses and the Frank family moves to a hideout.  After two year of hiding, when Anne is only eighteen, the family is discovered and taken to concentration camps, where their lives are taken. The illustrations are very powerful and bring the feelings of the Frank family to life.  This is an emotionally draining book which will help readers understand what life was like for Jews during this horrible time in history.
