Acceleration, by Graham McNamee, is a suspenseful, edgy read that offers readers an entertaining glance into the lives of three teenage boys.  Attempting to make a few bucks, and stay awake, Duncan finds a personal diary including some strange and interesting details while working in the Toronto subway lost and found.  Due to a past failed attempt at being the hero, Duncan, along with his two closest friends, seek to unravel the clues in the diary and save the day.  Mr. McNamee does a wonderful job of making the characters appeal to young adults today.  Acceleration won the Edgar Allen Poe Award for Best Young Adult book.
