Baby Bat’s Lullaby, written by Jacquelyn Mitchard, is a touching encounter of a mother’s love. Though written from the point-of-view of a bat to her baby, this tender-hearted book can make any baby feel loved. Noonan’s illustrations compliment Mitchard’s text so well. The detailed expressions on the bat’s faces depict their emotions. They almost look human. The illustration and text will draw children to this book. The short, rhyming phrases are easy to read and flow well for young readers.
