Scenes from American History with topics varying from Thanksgiving to September 11th are featured in this book. In all there are nineteen topics covered which have had an impact on forming the world as we know it today. Although the book covers important topics in history, I recommend this book with reservations. I do not feel that it gives enough background information on the topics and children would need additional background knowledge in order to fully understand the events.. The end notes are valuable and give more in depth information which I wish had been integrated into the text. However, the illustrations are unique and add to the book. (Trade Book)
