Baby Rattlesnake is the story of a young rattlesnake that desperately desires to have a rattle of his own. Everyone in Baby Rattlesnake’s community knows that he is too young for the responsibility of a rattle, but they give him one in an effort to help him learn an important lesson. Originally told by Te Ata, a Chickasaw Indian storyteller, Baby Rattlesnake has been beautifully adapted by Lynn Moroney. This simple moral tale is told in both English and Spanish making it ideal for general education and ELL classrooms. The folk art illustrations enhance this traditional tale with simple geometric shapes and bright colors that are bound to delight young readers. (Paperback)
