Shertle shares with the readers all the things it takes to make and enjoy their very own beach. First sand is needed, followed by water and continuing with other beach necessities. Rhyming text adds to the delight of the story for young readers. Lavallee’s use of watercolors and gouache add to the feeling of being at the beach in those “hazy, lazy days of summer.” (Trade Book)
