The Arkansas State Department of Psychology & Counseling offers a Specialist in Education with a major in Psychology & Counseling.  Emphasis areas are 1) School Psychology 2) Mental Health Counseling 3) Flexible Options in Psychology/Counseling.  The department is housed in the College of Education.

Within the Psychology & Counseling major, each program is based on the individual student's previous academic training, professional experiences, and career aspirations.  Programs may lead to licensure and practice as professional counselors, school psychology specialists or psychological examiners; instructors of psychology in two-year post secondary settings (Ed.S. Community College Teaching of Psychology); and/or academic preparation for doctoral study in Psychology and Counseling.  Information about requirements for credentialing can be obtained from the Coordinator.
