Making a table in MS Word

    Page Setup

Margins: set all to .25” or whatever you want margins to be; choose Fix if you receive a message box about the margins being outside printable area of page.

Paper Size: set to 8.5 x 11 or 14; select Landscape orientation

 

Table

      Insert

            Table:    Table Size  type number of columns you want (this spaces columns evenly across the page)

                          Autofit Behavior – Fixed Column Width: select Auto or set specific size

                          Table Format – Auto Format offers several options for table design/appearance

 

To add columns to a table:

  1. Position cursor on a cell in the table
  2. Hold down mouse button and drag cursor across the number of columns you want to add; release button.
  3. Select Table – Insert – Columns to the right or Columns to the left
To add rows to a table:  same process as adding columns OR you can go to the last cell in the table and press tab key to automatically add a new row.
