EXERCISE 42: ANATOMY OF THE HUMAN REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEM
What are gonads? What cells to they produce?
Male: Be able to identify on the models: scrotum, testes, epididymis, vas
deferens, spermatic cord, ejaculatory duct, urethra ( prostatic, membranous, and
spongy urethrae), seminal vesicles, prostate, bulbourethral glands, corpora
cavernosa, corpus spongiosum, prepuce, glans penis.
On a microscope slide be able to recognize tesitcular tissue - seminiferous
tubules, interstitial cells, and sperm.
Dissect the bull testes and identify as many parts as possible.
What is a vasectomy?
Female: Be able to recognize: labia majora and minora, clitoris,
greater vestibular glands, bulb of the vestibule, vestibule, uterus (fundus, body, cervix, endometrium
(stratum functionalis and stratum basalis), myometrium, uterine or fallopian
tubes ( fimbriae), broad ligament, round ligament.
What is an ectopic pregnancy?
EXERCISE 43: PHYSIOLOGY OF REPRODUCTION: GAMETOGENESIS AND THE FEMALE
CYCLE
What is gametogenesis? What is meiosis? What are homologous chromosomes?
What is a zygote? How does meiosis differ from mitosis? What is synapsis?
Crossing over? Spermatogenesis produces how many sperm from one primary
spermatocyte? What is spermiogenesis?
On a microscope slide of an ovary be able to identify: primary follicles and
mature or vesicular or Graafian follicles. See if you can find a corpus luteum
or corpus albicans. How many ova are formed from a single primary oocyte?

Shucks, no physioex experiment to go with this section. Read over your lab
manual. ANYTHING IN IT IS FAIR GAME FOR THE PRACTICAL!!!
