EXERCISE 27: FUNCTIONAL ANATOMY OF THE ENDOCRINE SYSTEM
On models be able to locate:
the hypothalamus, pituitary gland, pineal gland, thyroid gland, parathyroid glands, adrenal glands, pancreas, and gonads.
Microscope slides:
be able to recognize the pancreatic islets and thyroid gland.
For the following hormones, be able to tell what they do, and what endocrine gland produces them.

Posterior pituitary: Antidiuretic hormone and oxytocin
Anterior pituitary: Growth hormone, prolactin, follicle stimulating hormone, luteinizing hormone,  thyroid stimulating hormone, adrenocorticotropic hormone.
Pineal gland:
melatonin
Thyroid gland:
T3 and T4 and calcitonin
Parathyroid gland: parathyroid hormone
Adrenal glands: aldosterone (mineralocorticoid), cortisone (glucocorticoid), androgens (gonadocorticoids)
Pancreas: insulin and glucagon
Gonads: female: estrogen and progesterone; male : testosterone
