In addition to its regular offerings in
Spanish, French, German, Arabic, and Chinese, the Dept. of Languages is
developing specialized and experimental courses to meet particular student
interests and needs. In 2008-09, we will offer:

WLAN 1936- Accelerated Elementary
Swahili
Pronunciation and basic grammar,
simple speaking and listening comprehension skills, and cultural
understanding of Swahili-speaking areas. Offered: Fall 2008, the
class meets five times each week: MWF 3:00-4:15 and TR 2:00-3:15
WLAN 2936- Accelerated Intermediate
Swahili
Continuation of WLAN 1936. Further
development of listening and speaking skills, with increasing
emphasis on reading and writing. Prerequisite: WLAN 1936.
Offered: Spring 2009.
