Complete the work assigned previously from Chapter
10 (ROP concepts) & Chapter 11 (EOQ concepts).
- Complete your reading of Chapter 2 in the text and start reading
Chapter 3. In addition, read the handout
"Transformation of Western Style of Management" by
Deming. Start working on learning the 14 Points.
- If you haven't done so already, complete the exercises assigned previously
from "Data Analysis Exercise #1". Once you have
done so, use graph paper to create a scatterplot of Salary
versus Performance; label the chart appropriately, manually
plot a reasonably fitting straight line through the points, and
estimate the equation corresponding to the line.
- Prepare for Thursday's exam, which will be nearly identical to
last summer's Exam 1. Questions and responses are likely to
be reordered, and problems involving calculations will involve
different data. The exam will cover material in Chapters 1,
2, 3 (including Deming's 14 Points), and 4 (not
including the material in the section on reliability and
serviceability), as well as the limited material we have addressed
in Chapters 10 & 11.
