Work through the Flash tutorials available from the Handouts page
of course website and, on your own, rework the in-class exercise from the
class meeting of 1/29/04. When you are done, you should have the
following to show for your efforts:
Within your Images folder, a completed 250 pixel by 50 pixel
animated conference logo like that shown on pages 70-72 of the text (but for
Indianapolis, not Orlando); this work should be nicely done, not sloppy
Within your Exercises folder, a page called Flash.htm;
this should contain nothing but the animated logo you have created for this
exercise and a reasonable title
A link to Flash.htm from your website's homepage
On your homepage for the conference website exercise, replace the large
"Indianapolis" with the animated logo you created for Item (1), above.
From the text, scan Figure 3-2a and Figure 3-17b. The former image
(to be named miami) is to be used on a page featuring next year's
conference location, Miami Beach, and the latter (to be named bkgdworld)
is to be used as a background image for all the conference web pages.
Then do the following:
Crop these appropriately and make the background of the background image
transparent
Convert the resulting images to the appropriate compressed file formats
for use on web pages
Create a page that describes next year's conference location
Incorporate the background image into all the conference pages
Following the procedure demonstrated in class, create a 180 pixel x 36
pixel rollover button to be used at the bottom of all your conference web
pages. Clicking on the button should cause the conference homepage to
display. Of course, you'll need to add this button to all the conference
website's pages; it should be centered and at the bottom of each page.
Note that the procedure is summarized in "Creating
Rollover Buttons in Flash", which is available through the Handouts
page at the course website.
