While most of the documents available through this web site can be read directly through your web browser (e.g., Internet Explorer), some resources must be opened using some other software. Unless your browser has been especially configured to do this automatically (as with plug-ins), it requires a simple three step procedure: (1) Downloading the file for the resource you wish to open; (2) opening the appropriate program, such as PowerPoint; and (3) using that program to open (and to work with) the file you have downloaded. Since you should be generally familiar with working with the programs involved (e.g., PowerPoint, Word, Excel, etc.), the latter two steps are not addressed here. (Note that, in any case, you should use the appropriate software for any given file you wish to open; i.e., use a spreadsheet for spreadsheet files, a word processor for word processor files, a presentation package for presentation files, etc.) Since the downloading process may be new to you, you may find one of the following procedures to be useful in guiding you for this step
