The Raptor Research Foundation, Inc. (RRF) will hold its annual meeting from 8 November through 12 November 2000, at the Holiday Inn, Jonesboro, Arkansas. Attendees are encouraged to register early to obtain the early registration discount and to help the local committee plan the meeting efficiently. All nonmembers are encouraged to join the Foundation.

Jonesboro, Arkansas, is located in the extensive and fertile Mississippi River Delta. Because of the rich productivity of the land, it attracts some of the highest densities of wintering predatory birds in North America. Meeting participants will have the opportunity to experience the wintering abundance of raptors, including Red-tailed Hawks, Bald Eagles, Northern Harriers, American Kestrels, Loggerhead Shrikes, and other species, during field excursions scheduled during the meeting.

A workshop on the North American Raptor Monitoring Strategy will be held during the first day in conjunction with the RRF meeting (Thursday, 9 November), and a one-half day symposium on the Ferruginous Pygmy-Owl will be featured on Friday (10 November).

Registration, which will be run throughout the meetings entirety, will be at the Jonesboro Holiday Inn starting the afternoon of Wednesday, 8 November.

A highlight of the meeting will be a River Boat Trip and Annual Banquet on the Mississippi River. The trip will be scheduled to begin in late afternoon so participants can experience the landscape, sunset, and finally the night lights of Memphis from the deck of the Memphis Queen III. Dinner will be served and the banquet will be held as we cruise the mighty Mississippi River. Entertainment will be provided after the Banquet.
