Welcome!! The
athletic training education program (ATEP) received its initial
accreditation through the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health
Education Programs (CAAHEP) in April of 1999, and was recently
reaccredited until 2011-2012. On July 1, 2006, CAAHEP no longer
accredits athletic training education. Instead, the Commission on
Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) oversees
accreditation for all ATEP programs.
Arkansas State University was the first accredited athletic training
education program in Arkansas. The ATEP has
the capacity to place graduates in all fields of practice: secondary
schools, colleges/universities, professional, clinical/industrial
athletic training and in graduate schools for those interested in higher
education careers in athletic training/sports medicine and other allied
health professions.
