This image balances on one point and could easily become unbalanced, falling either forward or backward.

Composed with linear calligraphic rhythms, this tightly structured and compact system of strings and fibers binds all its parts together. The superego is a sector of Human Psyche that is only partly conscious; thus, some forms in this engraving are only partially visible. The superego balances the formation of one’s character on rules established by parents and on rules established by society. This is a balance between reflecting the conscience of one's parents and reflecting the rules of society. It is a tenuous perch that could tip forward or backward.
