This burin engraving describes a succession of turns and revolutions, like a snowball rolling downhill, picking up new layers, swelling larger as it rolls. Each successive revolution conceals an earlier stage of origin, eventually overlapping and hiding all but the twists and events of most recent duration. This print depicts the flow of time churning its way downhill. Beginning with a dark interior, it reveals the succession of layers, culminating in the bright, fast-paced exterior.
