- Labyrinth Canyon was engraved on a piece of recycled brass plate that had been used as a kick plate on a door. Various scratches and knicks on the plate were incorporated into the final image.
- This is the first brass plate I've worked on. Lines cut into brass are colder, more brittle, and less expressive. Brass is more difficult to cut. The point of the burin got dull more quickly, forcing me to spend more time sharpening it. Hard or half-hard copper is best for printing plates.
