- On January 1, 2001, the first day of the new
millennium, 2000 New Leafs painted by Carol Ann
Newsome were planted around the world.

- Twenty of them were planted in Jonesboro. The photographs below were all taken on New Year's Day, 2001, when snow and ice covered most of the country, including Jonesboro, Arkansas. If you look carefully you will see a New Leaf in each photograph.
