The Teaching Emphasis is offered in the following content areas: Agricultural Education, Biology, Business Administration, Business Education, Chemistry, English, History, Music Education, Physical Education, Political Science, Reading, Sociology, Speech Communication and Theatre, and Vocational-Technical Education. The 60-hour program will require that each student earn a Master's degree, a minimum of 39 semester hours in the teaching field(s), 12 semester hours in the Community College Core, and 9 semester hours in the Teaching Core. A maximum of 12 hours of 5000 level courses may be applied toward the Master's degree portion of the degree program with an additional 6 hours of 5000 level courses acceptable after the Master's degree has been earned. Minimum hours required are 30 plus a Master's degree. CCED 7023 Field Study and CCED 7033 Special Problems are available every term. To register for either of these courses, the program coordinator must enroll you. Note 2. Some ELAD/ELCI courses require ELAD 6103 Ethical Leadership as a prerequisite. Online registration may be blocked if you do not have the prerequisite.
