| Project Overview:
|
This project is a cooperative effort between a non-profit organization
(ALFDC) and a non-land grant university (ASU) to provide technical and
financial assistance to limited-resource farmers interested in adopting
a low-capital, sustainable method of swine production. This project features
demonstration farms located in six counties of the mid-delta region of
eastern Arkansas. Farms are being operated by both the ALFDC and by paraprofessional
farmers involved in the project. The primary purposes of the these farms
is to provide income for the paraprofessional farms, generate production
and economic data from various locations, and to serve as demonstration
sites for educational programs.
