We start a new section on evolution.

The first article is a newspaper ad, but it sets the stage for a discussion of evolution in Arkansas.

Chapters that are required reading for this test period: 15, 16, and 17. Chapter 15 was already assigned;  we'll go through the next two chapters this week looking more t the mechanisms by which evolution can occur. There will be another article or two about topics in evolution; the links will be below the "dinosaur" paragraph below.

Article on why the dinosaurs went extinct. Note: the "K-T boundary" refers to the rock boundary that corresponds to the transition between the Cretaceous Period (at the end of the Mesozoic Era) and the Tertiary Period (beginning of the Cenozoic Era).  I'm guessing that they use "K" for Cretaceous because "C" fro Cmabrian is already used, sort of why we use "R" for Thursday.

Personal thoughts on how to make evolution more understandable and believable to you.
