What is Career Orientation? In Arkansas
Career Education is Required of all students enrolled in public school.
Students at the 7th or 8th grade level enroll usually for one semester.
They learn about who they are and what skills or aptitudes they have,
what they might like to do in a career, how to research a career option,
and they gain an overview of the 15 career clusters.
Requirements for
CO Certification -- Two courses are offered each
summer which will certify you to teach career orientation. However, you
first must have secondary teacher certification or be in the process of
working toward certification in some other subject area. By just taking
two required courses in the summer you become certified to teach another
subject matter. The two courses are, VOED

Why enroll in Career Orientation
Courses? To gain an additional certification that
will help you be more qualified and have the edge on another applicant
for a job. You may take it for either graduate or undergraduate credit.
ABOUT the ASU Courses
-- Both classes are offered second term of summer school at ASU.
Dr. David Agnew Usually teaches the course. No
text is required for the course. A variety of students enroll
in the course, from Ag majors to business, art and history. The course
is offered at both the under-gradaute and graduate level. For more detailed
