for Beebe and other transfer students

Hello and welcome to my FAQ for transfer students.  We realize that transferring to ASU Jonesboro can pose some important questions and we want  to help you answer those question so that you can make a smooth transition to the Jonesboro Campus.     Many of the policies and procedures for transferring are outlined in the catalog.  Also these policies do change from time to time.  The Office of Admissions has the final say on these matters. FAQ 1 Will all my hours count?   That depends on what courses you have taken.  The courses that can transfer related to the Gen Ed are determined by the Office of Admissions.   Courses related to agriculture are reviewed by the College of Agriculture.

FAQ 2 Will my grade of D in course XYZ transfer to Jonesboro?  Grades of  D can not transfer unless it is part of an Associate Degree Program.  In other words if you have two Ds that are part of the Associates Degree Program, they will transfer in.  If you have two Ds and the degree was not completed, they will not be allowed to transfer in. 

FAQ 3 Does this transfer of a D into ASU-Jonesboro apply to the courses required for admission to teacher education?  No the College of Education has established a requirement of C or better on the on certain courses

FAQ 4 Will regular Psychology count for Educational Psychology?   NO...But since you are an Ag Ed major.... Ed Psych is one of those unique courses that will meet a Gen Ed requirement and also meet our specific needs in Ag Ed. 

FAQ 5 How do I transfer to ASU-Jonesboro?  Contact the Admissions Office they will walk you through the process. (870) 972-3024

FAQ 6 Can I take classes at Jonesboro and at the Beebe campus the same semester?  Yes

FAQ 7 Will by Financial Aid transfer to Jonesboro?  If you qualified for financial aid at your present institution, you may very well qualify here also. 

FAQ 8 Will by Scholarship transfer to Jonesboro?  Scholarships are sometimes unique to the institution. If the scholarship is a local scholarship it is not likely to transfer.  To know for sure contact the Financial Aid and Scholarships Office at Jonesboro, Financial Aid and Scholarships Office, (870) 972-2310.

FAQ 9 Since SCED 2514, Introduction to Sec. Ed is a lower level course can I take it at Beebe?  Even tho this is a lower level course this is not a course that is offered off campus?

FAQ 10 Can I student teach (do my student internship) near Beebe?   If there is a school available and qualified, we try to accommodate those requests.

FAQ 11 Can I substitute an Ag Business course for a course in Plant Science or An Science?   We realize there are more Ag Business course offerings at Beebe but we are required to have a balance between the various subject areas and can not substitute these upper level Ag Business courses for courses in Plant or An Science.

FAQ 12 Can I belong to a student organization on the Jonesboro campus while still enrolled in courses at Beebe? Yes.

FAQ 13 What happens to courses that do not transfer to the Jonesboro Campus?  They are not factored into your grades at ASU-Jonesboro. But they will remain on your Beebe transcripts.

FAQ 14 Will my GPA from _______ (Beebe)  be added to the Jonesboro transcript?   Yes
