Parent Day

Coming to ASU (10:00- 10:30), Student Union Auditorium, Ms. Tammy Fowler, Director of Admissions
Breakout sessions (10:30 – 11:30)
You are invited to select two of the following small group sessions between 10:30 – 11:30. Each 30 minute session is repeated twice during the hour.

Student Presentations (11:30 – 12:00), Lab Science East and West)
Please join your children as they present what they have learned this week. You will also have an opportunity to meet the science teachers who have been working with your children. Staffers will be present to direct you to rooms.
Lunch (12:00, Centennial Hall, Student Union) and check-out (North Park Quad)
Please join us for lunch in Centennial Hall. After lunch, you are free to return to the dorm to check your child out of his/her room.

From Hwy 1/Stadium Blvd:
Follow Stadium Blvd. until Aggie Rd. Proceed to turn left on Aggie Rd. Drive approximately ¼ mile, turn right onto University Loop (the second right you come to.) Drive in the left lane approximately ½ mile and proceed until the stop sign. At the sign, make a left. You have arrived at NorthPark Quads. Proceed to the 1-story building directly in the center of the complex.
From E. Johnson:
Turn at red-light onto E. Johnson from Stadium Blvd. Drive approximately ½ mile and make a left at the Caraway Rd. red-light. Take the first left on Caraway Rd. You have arrived at NorthPark Quads. Proceed to the 1-story building directly in the center of the complex.
From Caraway Rd. (over the tracks):
Drive all the way down Caraway until the tracks. Drive in the right lane, making a right at the red-light onto University Loop. Proceed until the next stop sign, at which point you will make a left. Drive straight through the first stop sign at Aggie Rd. Continue straight until the second stop sign. Make a left at this stop sign. You have arrived at NorthPark Quads. Proceed to the 1-story building at the center of the complex.

To improve science pedagogy (including the use of technology) employed by high school teachers |

To improve science and technology learning by students |

To increase the number of students who go to college |
What? Using Crime Scene Investigation (CSI), we will explore
different areas of science, including technology.

Who? 7th- 12th grade science teachers, students (entering 7th grade in Fall 08 thru students entering 12th grade in Fall 08), parents, and school counselors are invited to attend
When?
Teachers only: June 8th- 12th
Teachers and students: June 15 th –20th. (commitment for both weeks is required for teachers)
Parents: June 20 th
School Counselors: June 18th
Where? Arkansas State University, lodging and meals provided
Will it cost me anything? NO!!! This is a grant-funded project, so we are happy to say it won't cost you anything! In fact, you'll receive:
Teachers: $100/day stipend for completing the summer experience. For those teachers who want, we will also be able to pay for 3 hours graduate school credit, as well as the stipend.
Students: will receive $40 per day
School Counselors: CEU credits
Parents: Enjoy a nice lunch with us on June 30th
