Etymology: 
tiomanensis (L) after Pulau Tioman, the type locality.
Major Synonyms:  None.
History:  First collected by Mark Day on 17 August 1988.

Eye Condition:  Reduced, partly embedded eyes.
Pigmentation:  Partially depigmented.
Scales:  Small and deeply embedded.

Distribution:  Malaysia: Pulau Tioman (island): cave in Mount Gunung Kajang at 1000 m a.s.l. (ca. 2o 50' N, 104o 15' E).

   
Habitat and Ecology:  In shallow pools of a small granitic cave system.
