Schistura jarutanini Kottelat, 1990

 Srisawat blind cave loach

Common Name:   Srisawat blind cave loach (E).
Etymology: 
jarutanini after Kitipong Jarutanin, who collected the first specimens.
Major Synonyms:  None.
History:  First collected by K. Jarutanin in November 1987.
   

Morphological Characteristics: 

Troglomorphic Characters: 

Eye Condition:  Eyes reduced to absent.
Pigmentation:  Slightly depigmented.
Scales:  Scales embedded.

Distribution:  Thailand: Kanchanaburi Province: Amphoe Sri Sawat: Tham (Cave) Ba Dan (ca. 14o 02' N, 94o 32' E), Tham Nam, and Tham Sao Hin (Trajano et al. 2002).  Several visits in 1999 yielded no observations of the troglobitic form of this species but individuals of the epigean forms were found.
