Jacques Arnoult

b. Nancy, France, 26 February 1914; d. , France, 10 August 1995.

Arnoult received his bachelor's (licenciature) degree in sciences in Toulouse and later obtained his degree in agricultural engineering and hydrobiology.

In 1951 he was given the responsibility of directing the Institut de Recherche Scientifique de Madagascar by then, still a French colony.  There he directed his efforts in the area of hydrobiology, particularly fishes.

In 1959 he described Typhleotris pauliani from Madagascar.
