GUIDELINES FOR CONTRIBUTORS


 

ARKANSAS REVIEW: A Journal of Delta Studies focuses on the seven-state Mississippi River Delta. Interdisciplinary in scope, we welcome contributions from all the humanities and social sciences, including anthropology, art history, folklore studies, history, literature, musicology, political science, and sociology. Articles should be aimed at a general academic audience and follow the format specified in the Chicago Manual of Style,14thedition. Submit articles in hard copy and on disk to the General Editor at the above address.

Photographs and other visual materials to accompany articles are encouraged. Do not submit originals until after the article has been accepted. When submitted, photographs should be black and- white prints no larger that 8" x lO" in either glossy or matte finish.

ARKANSAS REVIEW also publishes creative material, especially fiction, poetry, essays, and visual art that evoke or respond to the Delta cultural and natural experience. Address such materials to the Creative Materials Editor or the Art Editor, again at the above address.

All material send to the ARKANSAS REVIEW will be refereed by the relevant editor and at least one other reviewer-in the case of articles, a specialist in the field of the article. We will attempt to respond to submissions within four months.

Contributors may also want to submit proposals for special issues of the REVIEW, ones dealing with specific Delta topics. Such proposals should be sent to the General Editor.

Contributors will receive five copies of the issue of the ARKANSAS REVIEW in which their work appears.
