COURSE
PHILOSOPHY: In lecture, ENT
4001/5001, you will be introduced to the diversity of aquatic arthropods and be
exposed to the taxonomy, Phylogenetic relationships, respiration, design of
insect studies, natural history and behavioral adaptations, ecology, and
biomonitoring use of aquatic arthropods with emphasis put on Arkansas and
regional species. In laboratory, ENT 4002/5002, you will be introduced to
approximately 150 representative species of aquatic arthropods that are located
in Arkansas and the region and will be expected to master the techniques and
processes used in taxonomy and systematics for identifying aquatic insects from
laboratory and field collections.
